Competing in the E Sports industry is what most children dream of , but is it realistic?

Being able to play in an ESports team or doing something related to that has been the dream of most children nowadays. But is it really worth it? As well-known YouTuber and CEO of Moist Moguls Ludwig puts it: "I think I've said it enough over the past year, but ESports is not a good business to be in." The truth is that it is almost certainly always unprofitable. How come, though? Let's delve deeper. The Los Angeles Times and Ludwig claim that one of the main reasons ESports has struggled in recent years is that the once-vast 'hype' has now diminished, resulting in a decreasing number of sponsors who can fully fund ESports teams. The length of time it takes for a team to be recognized as an official one is another factor contributing to the failure of ESports. Anyone can form a team; but there must be genuine recognition. These factors are further supported by the fact that many of these teams were once supported by fraudulent cryptocurrencies and NFT projects. Some ESports groups were fortunate enough to receive recognition from an actual cryptocurrency, or NFT project. However, similar to ESports, the excitement surrounding NFT projects and cryptocurrencies has been waning as you read this article. Even while that already seems awful, there are more problems. ESports organizations must pay their players a living wage (which is not much). The fact that most ESports teams have 'gaming houses' where they live at also contributes to the high price. Good players will be expensive, which will just make the situation worse. You would therefore be at a loss if an ESports squad were to operate. Additionally, travel expenses must be taken into account. Major ESports teams have been raising money by selling merchandise, so not everything is negative. Major teams can still make money via YouTube and Twitch, and they still have contracts with important sponsors. But that's all there is to it. So if you really want to join or form an ESports team, make sure to think twice.
